[Product Release] Introducing Kameleoon's integration with the Segment customer data platform

The aim is to demonstrate the value and innovation we provide to our users. You can read our previous article about our integration with Heap’s product analytics platform.

Our new one-click Segment x Kameleoon integration, enables our customers to easily share A/B test and personalization events with other downstream tools in their martech stack that are connected to their Segment account. These include email marketing, analytics or data warehouse platforms.

1 What is Segment?

Segment is a customer data platform that makes good data accessible for all teams. With Segment, brands can collect, unify, and connect their first-party data to over 200 marketing, analytics, and data warehousing tools, at the flip of a switch. More than 15,000 brands across 71 countries currently use Segment to achieve a consistent, common understanding of their users and activate their own data to create customer-first decisions and experiences.

2 How Kameleoon integrates to Segment

With our seamless one-click Segment integration, when a visitor is being targeted by an experiment or a personalization, Kameleoon automatically sends an event to Segment containing the name and ID of the experiment and variant.

This lets marketers and product owners carry out deeper analysis of the customer journey, supports a single view of the customer through analytics tools or their data warehouse and enables them to gain a broader picture of the impact of an experiment or a personalization on visitors’ behavior. By sharing consistent, up-to-date data brands can target the right customer with the right message at the right time.

3 Key benefits for Kameleoon users:

  • Ability to use A/B tests and personalization data in more than 200 marketing and analytics tools with no extra configuration needed
  • Deeper understanding of the effect of running experiments on the entire customer journey, by carrying out advanced analysis in solutions such as data warehouse business intelligence tools (such as Looker) or analytics platforms
  • Capability to consistently extend a web message or an offer to email marketing campaigns by using Segment events generated by a personalization as it runs
Having a Segment bridge allows us to link experiment data with our central database, crucially helping us measure impact across a broader set of key measures when relevant. This could be anything from how particular changes impacted customer support and refund rates to understanding the longer-term impact of certain experiments on our customers.
